About Me
I’m Andrew Ortiz, a production sound mixer focused on capturing clean, professional audio for film, interviews, and digital media. I work closely with directors and production teams to ensure dialogue and on-set sound are recorded clearly and reliably.
Using professional field recording equipment like the Sound Devices 833 Portable Compact Mixer/Recorder, I deliver high-quality multi-track recordings that are ready for post-production.
My goal on every project is simple:
capture the best sound possible so the story comes through clearly.
Upcoming Projects
I am currently working on a variety of film and media productions as a Production Sound Mixer, collaborating with filmmakers, creators, and production teams to capture clean, professional audio on set. My work focuses on recording high-quality dialogue and environmental sound that integrates seamlessly into the post-production process.
In addition to my professional work, I help co-lead an exciting student film program at a local high school, where students collaborate to produce original narrative films. The program gives young filmmakers hands-on experience in directing, cinematography, sound design, and editing while working together on real productions.
For the program’s upcoming film production, I served as the Head of Sound, overseeing the entire production audio workflow including boom operation, lavalier microphone setups, and on-set dialogue recording.
